Len Elikan Testimony About the Foundation
“To me Judaism is very important. I am an American Jew - I am a Jewish American. I am an American Jew more than a Jewish American and to me, being a Jew is very important. I feel that Judaism, the continuation of Judaism, is important for the existence of mankind. You have to find people who feel that way. They’re the ones who are going to say, ‘Gee that’s important to me that the institutions survive.’
What kind of world do I want to pass on to the next generation? To me, that’s what a legacy is all about.
I think the Foundation is a fantastic resource. I feel like it’s the greatest agency in this whole community because I’ve always thought about, ‘Gee, I’d like to leave something behind.’ They’ve helped me. They’ve been helping me figure out how to do that. That’s to me, it’s a great service. I don’t look at it that the Foundation is trying to get money from me. I look at it, ‘Gee this is a great resource to help me figure out ‘how.’
I think a lot of people are intending to leave things after they die and they need - they can use all the help they can get. Foundation does a terrific job and has been very helpful to me. I don’t know if that’s important to anybody but me… I assume it’s important to a lot of people.”
